Parts of the Letter

I believe it is important for designers to know the fundamentals of typography and all the aspects of it. This then helps the designer pick a typeface that fits well with his design. In my personal opinion, a good font/typeface is one of the most important keys to a good design. I feel like it really ties the design together. I spend a good one to two hours picking out a good font for my designs. I really, really enjoyed this reading because typography is one of the main reasons why I switched to graphic design.I am absolutely crazy about fonts, so it was really fun to learn the history and body parts of a typeface. I can talk about this all day if I could, haha. I had no idea there was so much stuff to learn! There are so many body parts and rules that I never even payed mind to. I was really, really excited to do this project and read this pdf.
